I recently acquired a less common item, the 1984 Mattel Department Store Catalog. This catalog includes an ad for the Heroic Warriors II gift set as well as the Evil Warriors II gift set. Tucked into the catalog was the price list (for the retail buyers) for the items listed in the document. The Masters of the Universe three-packs were $9.60. Consumers could then expect to pay about $12 for each three pack. I’ve included a newspaper ad from The Cincinnati Enquirer dated to September 23, 1984, which advertises each set for $11.99.
Interestingly in the catalog photo Battle Armor He-Man is holding a very light gray Power Sword. The actual sword he came with was a darker gray with a subtle metallic sheen.
