About

Battle Ram is primarily a blog about He-Man toy design, history, packaging art, comics and other media. The focus is on the original Masters of the Universe line (1982-1988), however the various reboots that came later are occasionally covered. It was founded in 2015 by Adam McCombs, and has also had frequent contributions by Jukka Issakainen.

I started the blog with my first article (about Mer-Man) in August of 2015. As a result of readers’ enthusiastic response to this blog, I’ve been lucky enough to contribute to the following:

Netflix series The Toys That Made Us

Contribution: background information for the show, some images

Mundo Masters Magazine articles, appearing in issues 02-05 and 09

The Toys of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Sections written: Interviews, Timeline, Factoids and about half of the MOTU Classics writeups

The Masters of the Universe Book – DK

Contribution: Fact checked a few sections

My work was also referenced in How He-Man Mastered the Universe, by Brian C. Baer

The Most Powerful Toy History in the Universe – Power-Con 2023 Panel

Power-Con panel featuring myself, “Pixel Dan” Eardley, Emiliano Sanatalucia and Josh Van Pelt

The Toys That Built America, Season 3, Episode 12: “Most Valuable Toys.”

Brief reference to my Savage He-Man article

Kings of the Snakemen

Very minor contribution of background information – definitely not meriting my name on the cover, although it was very nice of them to include it

I also appeared as a guest on Roast Gooble Dinner, Toy Habits, Dad At Arms, Michael Mercy and Sargent Slaughter’s MOTUesday Night Live. I currently appear regularly on The Frenzy.

As always, thanks for reading!
